Since 01 January 2004, the IAAF officially ratifies world records in road
running and road race walking. The road course must be approved officially
by the IAAF.
The IAAF congress on 25 August 2011 decided, new performances of women achieved in mixed gender races
will no longer be ratified, beginning from 01 November 2011. From 01 November 2013, this was modified
separately recording world records in women only and mixed gender races.
