1910: 100 clay pigeons; The tie was decided by a shoot-off on single
targets until the tie was broken.
1929: 3x100 clay pigeons on three days
1930: 100 clay pigeons; distance 15 m; with stand handicap, i.e., the best
shooters so far had to shoot from the most difficult of the three
available ranges. The tie was decided by a shoot-off on single
targets until the tie was broken.
1931 - 1937: 3x100 clay pigeons on three days
1934 - 1938: The ties on medals were decided by a shoot-off on 20
targets.
1938: 3x200 clay pigeons on two days
1939 - 1967: 3x100 clay targets on three days
1969 - 1991: 200 clay targets; The tie was decided by (since 1977 max. 3) shoot-offs of 25
clay targets.
1986 - 1991: 200 targets; The top 6 shooters in the qualifying
round moved on to the final round. There, they fired on additional
25 targets. The final result is the addition of qualifying and
final score. Ties were decided first by the total of the final. If
this is still a tie by shoot-offs on single targets until the tie
was broken.
since 1993 125 targets; The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round
moved on to the final round. There, they fired on additional 25
targets. The final result is the addition of qualifying and final
score. Ties were by shoot-offs on single targets until the tie was
broken.
2013 - 2015: The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round (125
targets) moved on to the semifinal, qualifying scores did not carry
over to the final rounds. In the semifinals, every competitor had
15 targets (only one shot). A table was established where the first
and second fought for the gold medal, while the third and fourth -
for the bronze medal. In the Gold and Bronze medal matches every
shooter had 15 targets (only one shot) again. Ties were decided by
shoot-offs on single targets until the tie was broken.
Since 2017: The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round (125
targets) moved on to the final round without taking into account
the qualification scores. There, they fired additional (max. 50)
shots. Every five shots the lowest-ranked shooter is eliminated
beginning from shot 25. Only the last two competitors fired the
shots 41 - 50.
Only 2022: The top 8 shooters in the qualifying round (125 targets) moved
on to the finals without taking into account the qualification scores. The
finals consist of Ranking Match 1 and Ranking Match 2, composed of 4 athletes
each and the Medal Match, composed of the 2 winners from each Ranking Match.
In the ranking matches the shooter with the lowest score was eliminated after
15 shots. After further 10 shots the best two shooters of each group qualified
for the medal match. In the medal match they fired max. 35 shots. After 15
shots and 10 shots resp. the lowest-ranked shooter is eliminated. Ties were
decided by shoot-offs on single targets until the tie was broken.

1947 - 1950 100 clay pigeons
1952 - 1954 150 clay pigeons
1958 - 1991 200 clay targets
1967 - 1975: The tie was decided by shoot-offs of 25 clay targets.
There, they fired on additional 25
targets. The final result is the addition of qualifying and final
score. Ties were decided by shoot-offs on single targets until the
tie was broken.
2013 - 2015: The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round (125
targets) moved on to the semifinal, qualifying scores did not carry
over to the final rounds. In the semifinals, every competitor had
16 targets (as doubles). A table was established where the first
and second fought for the gold medal, while the third and fourth -
for the bronze medal. In the Gold and Bronze medal matches every
shooter had 16 targets (as doubles) again. Ties were decided by
shoot-offs on single targets until the tie was broken.
Since 2017: The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round (125
targets) moved on to the final round without taking into account
the qualification scores. There, they fired additional (max. 60)
shots. Every ten shots the lowest-ranked shooter is eliminated
beginning from shot 20. Only the last two competitors fired the
shots 51 - 60.
Only 2022: The top 8 shooters in the qualifying round (125 targets) moved on
to the finals without taking into account the qualification scores. The finals
consist of Ranking Match 1 and Ranking Match 2, composed of 4 athletes each and
the Medal Match, composed of the 2 winners from each Ranking Match. In the
ranking matches the shooter with the lowest score was eliminated after 20 shots.
After further 10 shots the best two shooters of each group qualified for the medal
match. In the medal match they fired max. 40 shots. After 20 shots and 10 shots
resp. the lowest-ranked shooter is eliminated. Ties were decided by shoot-offs on
single targets until the tie was broken.

1977 - 1991: 150 clay targets
1993 - 1995: 125 targets
since 1997: 75 targets
2002 - 2017: The tie was decided by comparison of the last series
of 25 shots etc. each shooter (in parentheses).
Only 2022: The best 2 teams in the qualifying round (75 targets each shooter) promoted to the Gold medal
match and the next 2 teams to the Bronze medal match. Number of targets in the final: Up to 5 series
of 5 targets each series. During each series, each team will shoot 15 targets. Maximum 25 targets
each athlete (75 targets each team). After each series of 5 targets the team with the highest number

The ISSF World Cup was introduced in 1986 to provide a homogeneous
system for qualification to the Olympic shooting competitions. It still
is carried out in the Olympic shooting events, with four competitions
per year in each event. For the best shooters there is a World Cup Final since 1988.
To the F, the following shooters are qualified:
- The defending Olympic, World, ISSF World Cup Final champions.
- Silver and Bronze medalists of either the last Olympic or the
World Championship, whichever competition that was most recently held.
- The eight shooters that have made the best performances at the
World Cup competitions during the year. For rating the performances, a
special score system is used by taking into account of both the rank
and the score achieved in the competitions.
- As many as two shooters can be nominated by the host country to
compete in two of the World Cup Final events if no one from the host
country qualifies.
